In 2000, Mat and Carl, inspired whilst in a club in New Orleans, decided to assemble a group of musicians who shared a common desire for delivering emotionally charged music that endeavours to always take the listener on a journey. With the addition of Grant, Sam, and Daniel, we had a lineup that shared an immediate connectivity that we recognised as something quite rare.

All band members originally hail form Perth, Western Australia. It was there that we cemented our hard-hitting performance style that allowed us to enjoy an extended period of hometown success.

2005 found many of the band leaving Perth for the world stage. With members strewn across the globe, Speedball was put on ice. In what seems like a remarkable twist of fate, all members not only returned to Australia within the same year, but four of us moved to Melbourne without consult.

So here we are!

Ten years on in our lives and it feels like we have never stopped playing together,
The connectivity has grown, the experience has grown, we have all grown.
Finally we have recorded and finally we are ready to take this band on a journey.

Finally....We have moved!
